Description
This beautiful, native clematis is found wild on our property. It’s unique flower begins blooming in May and continues into early fall. As the flowers mature and fade they are replaced by spikey seed heads. I have this clematis in both full sun and full shade. In full sun, it does like to have roots that are kept moist and sheltered from the sun. I like to plant it under shrubs and let it scramble up and out the top. Makes a beautiful cut flower.
